HOBBIES, INTERESTS & MORE

I love constant relationship with God.  I am  Mary with very little Martha in me.  I especially love being with my family and sharing our love for Christ.  I am very much a people lover.  Photography is my second hobby with writing being my favorite hobby.  Writing and photography are very cathartic and nurturing to my soul.  I write life as felt through my heart, both short and long stories.  I'm not inclined to write fiction; however, I also enjoy penning poetry.  My favorite subjects to photograph are birds, animals and anything of nature, I feel particularly drawn towards trees and flowers.  I like playing with photo editing and hope I can learn much more about photo shopping programs in the future.

I love the pure, clean colors of Mother Nature.  I am not much of a pastel person, but have more a bright, vivid personality.  Wind chimes make me happy; I plan to always have them around to catch soft whispers from gentle breezes or loud shout outs from increasing winds.

Cooking, especially baking, are hobbies I've neglected recently to my normal extent.  I cook big; it is as if I don't know how to cook small.  Favorite things to bake are various pound cakes; I'm not so much  into layer cakes, pies, breads, cookies or cupcakes.  Give me a solid tube pan and watch out :-)  I've shared several cake recipes on my Facebook pages.

I enjoy decorating and the creative process, yet I do not like housework :-(  It's that Martha thing missing in me.  One of my biggest problems is the tendency to clutter rather than keeping everything in proper place; this is something I really need to increase time and effort towards.  That is not easy for me to openly admit but we are not all inclined to be Martha Stewart.

We have two cats, Annie and Miss Millie who are sisters I got from an animal shelter.  They are just over a year old.  Prior to Annie and Millie we had several wonderful cats and one dog; for a short while I had a grand pup.  I prefer and hope for grandchildren eventually; based on experience, I cannot imagine anything more energetic than Raleigh when Brandon visited with him here.  Our cats were Taffy, Megan, Gracie and Kleckley; we still miss them and talk about them.  Ashley, a golden retriever, could not have been a better pet.  She was very hyper until an unfortunate incident with a dump truck traumatically caused her to lose a hind leg.  Once recovered from amputation, Ashley and Clay were nearly inseparable.  Told that her life expectancy would be shortened, Ashley outlived all her litter mates despite being an amputee.  Why?  God had already provided handicap accessibility for her needs; our house was built to accommodate Clay.  There were no stairs or steps involved to stress Ashley.

Speaking of challenges, Clay's cat Kleckley, white with blue eyes, was completely deaf; this is a genetically common trait for white cats with blue eyes.  There have been moments I've pondered how on earth we ended up with Clay in a wheelchair, a deaf cat, and a three legged dog under our roof all at the same time.  God has a sense of specifically placed warped humor with me.  The accessibility was a huge plus when my parents began to use canes, walkers and wheelchairs in addition.  I suppose we have completely utilized a fully accessible home.  We need some upcoming maintenance because we will likely find ourselves very relieved that it is accessible for us when we physically need it most.

Clay's humor does not fall far from his mother's tree.  I believe it came from my maternal grandfather; just thinking of him makes me smile :-)  While I can be serious in thought and words, I fully enjoy the company and laughter of my friends.  I am known to go up to total strangers and give spontaneous hugs.  So far I have not been accused of violence.

If so inclined, more about me can be found on my different Facebook pages listed below.  You can peruse photo albums for a glimpse into life around our neck of SC woods.  I originally blogged years ago at www.Annette4clay.blogspot.com called Searching For Annette.  I basically quit once Facebook and multiplying responsibilities came along.

I post on three pages in addition to my personal Facebook page at Annette Monts Falls.

I started a page for Clay when he was in critical condition three years ago; he isn't into Facebook yet so I post for/with him at Clayton Alexander Falls community page.

At the same time I created a page for my rambling thoughts, notes and photos on a page listed as
Annette Monts Falls ~ Adversities, Meditations & Footsteps

A page called Creating In Me needs greater attention.  I wanted a place to share my photographic endeavors and a place to share old and new poems and written words without the fluff of numerous postings of random shares and statuses.

I have a twitter account but rarely do I check it :-)  It feeds my tweets via Facebook.

I have a Pintrest account but really haven't taken time to learn how to utilize or enjoy it as yet.

Again, I can best be reached via email address~

Annette4clay@aol.com   Please place the word CRADLED in the subject line so that I notice and respond more effectively.

Hobbies, interests and more,
this is my life behind the closed door.
Should you enter inside you will likely see,
just a regular scatter brained gal called me.
The dishes are dirty, the laundry left undone,
an unswept floor and my mind mostly gone.
But if you are brave to visit us here,
you will always be greeted with love, hugs and cheer.

Blessings,
Annette <')))><
